Winter Wonderland

Hello from Steamboat! Meg and I went snowshoeing yesterday on Rabbit Ears pass. The weather was a perfect combination of sunny and snowy. Meg and I liked floating above the drifts, but the dogs seemed content to sink right in. We thought you might like this video.

Love you, Grandma!

Ready for Football

Greetings from Lawrence, home of the team that probably ruined most of your March Madness brackets! Things are pretty gloomy around here after the upset loss last weekend, and K-State's success in the tournament is like rubbing salt in the wounds for most Jayhawk fans (did you all see that K-State game last night?! Wow!!).
Anyway, since basketball season is over in Lawrence much earlier than expected, everyone (ok, maybe just me) is getting excited for football season and the start of the Turner Gill era! I don't think many Jayhawk fans realize quite how lucky they are to have Coach Gill, but I have no doubt that he will do great things for the program. I know we all bleed Husker red, but I hope that we will have some new Jayhawk fans in the family this year (except for the week of the NU-KU game, of course).

Love you Grandma!!! xoxoxo, Carrie

Spring break in Steamboat!

Like Meg mentioned, the kids and I went up to Steamboat for spring break. Meg took Noah snowboarding; he's getting quite good! While we're in Steamboat, we also love visiting the library and ice skating.

The library is brand new and has awesome sections for kids and teens. Noah loved hanging out with a book in one of the window seats. Magdah and Noah tried out the person shaped chairs.

This was Magdah's first experience ice skating. She was not digging it until she sat in a sled that Noah pushed around the rink. Then she got into the spirit! Love ya, Granny! Jen

Visitors and victories

Brent and I have been busy entertaining house guests and showing them around Steamboat. Last week, a few high school friends drove out from Nebraska to give skiing a shot. Last weekend, Brent's best man, Jeff, was in town from New York City. On Tuesday, Jen and the Waldo kids came up for a few days. They left this afternoon. (Stay tuned for video of Noah snowboarding!) And tomorrow, Mandy and Dave are going to come up for the weekend! (Note: I am NOT complaining. We love visitors. Come see us!)

On a totally unrelated note, I thought you might enjoy this video I took in the fall. I was fortunate enough to time my trip to Nebraska so that I could not only see an Antler football victory, but I could also watch the Yankees win the World Series with my dad. Enjoy!

Kids rock!

What a great idea, Mandy! Hi Grandma! Are kids the greatest thing on this planet or what? Tonight, Grace got out of the shower, ran over to me butt naked, and said, "Mom, chest bump," and ran her stomach against mine. Where did she learn that? I couldn't stop laughing. Man they are funny.

I love everyone!

Blog Away!

Hi family! I thought this would be a fun way to entertain Grandma from a distance. Please update often... even if your news isn't particularly enthralling. I'll start!

It's a warm day in Colorado. The snow is melting, but it promises to return tomorrow. I'm counting down to spring break... four days and twenty minutes! My adorable boyfriend and I are going to visit the Boyers in Steamboat. Dave and I teach in the same school district, so we have the same breaks. I can't wait to play boardgames and snowshoe. Dave is eager to go fly-fishing. In the company of Brent, Meg, and Nilla, everything is more fun!

I'm constantly thinking about my grandma. I love you.
