Goal!!!! and Other Stuff

Hi, Grandma!!

Noah is playing soccer now. During his first game, he scored a goal!! We were so proud of him! He also played goalie in another game - I have never been so nervous in all my life!

Noah, Magdah, and I went on a hike recently. We went to Red Rocks Canyon in Colorado Springs. That's Garden of the Gods in the background of the picture.

I took a day off work and went with Noah's class on a field trip. We went to Manitou Cliff Dwellings. It was really fun spending the day with Noah. I loved seeing him with his classmates. He is a class clown!!

Love you, Grandma! Jen

Amazing Flag!!!

Margie: I saw this Amazing picture and immediately thought of you. Notice the cross within the stars. Everytime I see a flag I think of you and smile. I was thinking -- someday when I retire from teaching -- I am going to buy a van and deliver flags to everyone that needs one! Had a great time being with you on Thursday! I am so glad you are back in Lex and can play bridge again with your friends!!! Love ya tons! Con

Go Nuggets!

Hi Grandma! It's definitely time for flip-flops in Denver. The sun has been out every day this week. I've been walking through the city parks and hiking in the mountains. I hope it's sunny in Nebraska, too.

On Monday, Dave and I went to a Nuggets basketball game. They won! I'm not feeling great about the playoffs, but we'll see. Our seats were pretty pathetic, but we were in good company. Our school district gave out discounted tickets, so we went with four other teachers. Teachers rock. :)

This weekend, we're heading back to Steamboat! I can't wait.

Love you, Grandma!

The Wild Week of Margie!!!

You should all be extremely jealous of Con-Con!!! I have spent the last 4 days hanging out with your Mom, Grandma or Great-Grandma. She is totally awesome!! I have had the pleasure of being around most nights (not really invited -- I just show up and wait to be kicked out -- so far so good) and part of every school day -- we watched the "The Price is Right" everyday and talked about how great your family is. We laughed alot!! I struggled with those darn tennis shoes, I learned the Hail Mary again and gave the greatest back rub in the world!!! Tonight -- Survivor Night -- hoping Russell is treated like the king he is!!!
Margie -- Thanks for a great week! I love spending time with ya! I saw this Friendship quote and thought of you -- can't wait for you to come back to Elkhorn!!! Love ya tons, Con

Ski Town USA

Happy Easter, Grandma!
One of my favorite Easter memories was when you came to Steamboat a few years ago. Remember all that laundry you did?!? :) This year, Easter at the Boyers was much quieter. But we did get out and enjoy Steamboat.

On Friday night, there was a Hometown Heroes celebration to welcome back the athletes from Steamboat who competed in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Two of the athletes who won medals in Nordic combined were born and raised here — Johnny Spillane and Todd Lodwick. The celebration included a parade down Lincoln Avenue, our main street. They brought in snow by the truckload (the same snow they have to haul OUT of downtown!) so that the parade could be on snow. A marching band on skis led the way, and the Olympians were each in their own horse-drawn sleighs!

This morning, Brent and I rode the gondola to the top of the ski area for sunrise Easter service. The pastor who married us held the service. The music and the message were both inspiring. It was definitely worth waking up before the sun!
We love you,
Megan and Brent

Winter Wonderland

Hello from Steamboat! Meg and I went snowshoeing yesterday on Rabbit Ears pass. The weather was a perfect combination of sunny and snowy. Meg and I liked floating above the drifts, but the dogs seemed content to sink right in. We thought you might like this video.

Love you, Grandma!

Ready for Football

Greetings from Lawrence, home of the team that probably ruined most of your March Madness brackets! Things are pretty gloomy around here after the upset loss last weekend, and K-State's success in the tournament is like rubbing salt in the wounds for most Jayhawk fans (did you all see that K-State game last night?! Wow!!).
Anyway, since basketball season is over in Lawrence much earlier than expected, everyone (ok, maybe just me) is getting excited for football season and the start of the Turner Gill era! I don't think many Jayhawk fans realize quite how lucky they are to have Coach Gill, but I have no doubt that he will do great things for the program. I know we all bleed Husker red, but I hope that we will have some new Jayhawk fans in the family this year (except for the week of the NU-KU game, of course).

Love you Grandma!!! xoxoxo, Carrie
